Hi there guys,

I have a favor to ask you. There are a few things that I'd like to be able to control in my game (client).

The first one is mob spawn (on/off). Basically, like Mob Spawn Control but this mod is only for 1.7.2.

I thought of something like :

  1. Intercept every mob spawn (with Forge Events ?)
  2. IF the mob is in the blacklist
  3. Don't spawn it. Or spawn a zombie instead, if it's easier to code.

Rather easy stuff.

The second stuff is experience generation. The idea is to set to 0 the experience gained from mining & cooking things.

Again, I believe Forge Events could do the trick. (At every furnace use or ore mined, override experience generation to 0 ?)

But I wonder is a mod is really necessary for that. Because it's not adding anything to the game, it's just changing some of its parameters. Couldn't we do that just by tweaking vanilla's Minecraft config files ? (I'm currently not using any mod) That would be much lighter.

My target Minecraft is 1.12.2 or 1.13. Whichever fits best.

Thanks a lot for your help. ?

Both of your requests cannot be accomplished for a client only mod.

There is already a mod that does that: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/no-mob-spawning-on-trees

No (AFAIK).

1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code.

2. Always post your code.

3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that.

1. Read the EAQ before asking for help. Remember to provide the appropriate log(s).

2. Versions below 1.11 are no longer supported due to their age. Update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

Maybe I expressed myself wrong here.

When I said client, I meant I'm playing solo. Offline. Not on a server. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the mod link, it seems very interesting.
