Posted May 1, 20196 yr So, I need a way to create an Item that when right-clicked, opens an inventory. The inventory Needs to store a special only a special type of item. Is there a tutorial that explains this?
May 1, 20196 yr Attach an IItemHandler capability to your item. Read: https://mcforge.readthedocs.io/en/latest/datastorage/capabilities/ Then, create a GUI (and a container) for the item's inventory and open it in Item#onItemUse. 27 minutes ago, Jigokusaru said: The inventory Needs to store a special only a special type of item You can create a custom Slot class and override the canAccept (can't remember the spelling) method to check if the ItemStacks to be inserted match your criteria and use it as the slots in your container. Some tips: Spoiler Modder Support: Spoiler 1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code. 2. Always post your code. 3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that. 4. Quote Programming via Eclipse's hotfixes will get you nowhere 5. Learn to use your IDE, especially the debugger. 6. Quote The "picture that's worth 1000 words" only works if there's an obvious problem or a freehand red circle around it. Support & Bug Reports: Spoiler 1. Read the EAQ before asking for help. Remember to provide the appropriate log(s). 2. Versions below 1.11 are no longer supported due to their age. Update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

I'm not finding the canAccept method, and I'm not sure how to create a GUI.

May 1, 20196 yr Author I found the canAccept, its isItemValid. Still not sure how a GUI should be configured in an item, is there an example that use the IItemHandler I can look at?
