With vanilla, you're able to start the server with a .bat file, and console output is put into the command window. For some reason, I am unable to get that to happen with forge.

Content of my server folder:

Start.bat:

And output after running:

Upon checking ~/logs, the output files there are what i would expect to be shown in the console, IE server startup messages, and other info such as players joining.

I have tried using both the latest and recommended forge files (builds #2838 and #2768) both giving me identical results. All google results Ive gotten so far either tell me to add pause to my start.bat, which is already there, or where a specific issue with forge. The command window will close upon pressing any keys, but the server does not stop, stopping must be done through Task Manager, as even though I've added my username to the ops.json file, it resets to blank when i restart the server.

Any help of info would be greatly appreciated!

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.
