Every time I allocate more than 1gb of ram the cmd window opens for less than a second and then closes. I need to add more ram because there's too much lag when more than one person is on. Please help me out.
My start.batch file text is:

java -Xmx4G -Xms1G -jar forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2768-universal.jar nogui

Run the command from the command line and post the output. Most likely you are using 32-Bit Java.

I need Java 7 correct? Where can I get the 64 bit version? Because you are likely right.

What did you download? It's a regular installer...

I went through the installer but am I supposed to change anything now? Or do I just run it? Because if I just run it then.... it's doing the same thing

Then you are still running the server with the old Java. I suggest you uninstall any 32-Bit Java, there is no point in having it.

Uninstalled it, downloaded the installer, installed, still doesn't work.

You need to elaborate on "does not work". That's like telling your doctor "it hurts" and not providing any further information.

Sorry my bad. Pretty much just opening and closing on its own before I even see anything on it.
