1.14.3 crashes on startup; using custom directory

All day I've been fighting with this. I couldn't install to my D drive (I can't use my C, as it's a Solid State and used primarily for windows-related programs, so I have no room.) So it was installed on a second HD that I use primarily for games.

 

Fast forward to me installing and REinstalling over and over, I finally just installed Forge (and Optfine) to the C drive and changed the directory to Forge and Optifine to the D drive, copied the C drive's .minecraft folder and pasted it to the D drive.

I can get Optifine to run just fine, by editing the location on the profile.

Forge, however.... I can't. It starts to boot, reads 4 mods, then insta-crashes.

 

Hopefully this text log is in the right place, forgive me if it's not, this is my first post.

You do know that unless you use command line options with the launcher it will have re-generated everything on C, right?

Yeah, I noticed that. However, that doesn't explain why Optifine works, but Forge does not.

It's crashing because Forge 28.0.45 had breaking change in it that your version of Voxelmap is not updated for.

Again on the concept of copying to your D drive, if you can put up with the file repository (versions and assets) being put on C, you can change the Game Directory of each Profile/Installation (where mods, logs, configs, and saves go) to be on D

I would recommend backing up the mods, config, and saves folders from that, deleting everything else and renaming the folder, then putting mods, config, and saves back in.

Game Directory doesn't need everything from the .minecraft folder.

Well, thankfully, none of those saves used these mods. I was trying to get it to work today, and ran into issues. And now, Forge is telling me that DoggyTalents is erroring and optifine isn't supported. I'm pretty confused why all this is having so many conflicts, but it's been almost 5 or so years since I played Minecraft.

At this time there is only one version of Optifine that is compatible and installable alongside Forge, and it's a preview version.
