So, i've been using Forge on Minecraft to put in some mods and sometimes my PC crashes. It's not a bluescreen of death, because the screen is actually black, but the sound glitches and my PC restarts.
I know that it's not that my PC has problems with the game, because I played on other versions without forge and it doesn't happen.

I found a """way""" to avoid the crash: I play on fullscreen and when my screen goes black i have a few seconds to press F11 and that stops the PC from crashing.

Oh, and it doesn't matter if it's 1.8 or 1.7 or 1.12, it happens anyway.

If someone could help me, it would be a goal. Thanks!!!

1.8.9 is no longer supported on this forum due to its age.

Please update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

Also I'm seeing Notch/Obf names, so I'm not even sure you're running Forge as you claim.

(Unless 1.8.9 was in the jar patching days, I forget when the transition to runtime-patching occurred)

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.
