Using one of the paste sites listed in my signature,

the log itself will have the same name as the installer but with .log on the end:

Installer: forge-{version}-installer.jar

Log: forge-{version}-installer.jar.log

Note: If you have Windows Explorer set to hide file extensions(as is the default setting), they will look like this:

Installer: forge-{version}-installer

Log: forge-{version}-installer.jar

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

Try to manually go to the folder and delete the file. If you cannot, it's either read only or your useraccount doesn't have permission.
Forge should be capable of installing normally (without running it as administrator). The said location is deemed 'userspace', so as long as you logged on Lenovo, things should be able to be placed there.
After deleting the file, you can try to reinstall forge.

delete what from where? which folder do i go to and delete what file.

By folder i mean directory.
"C:\Users\Lenovo\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\net\minecraftforge\installertools\1.1.4\"
and the file "installertools-1.1.4.jar "
It's mentioned in diesieben's post.

So..
Drive C followed by the Users directory, followed by the Lenovo directory, followed by the AppData directory  Roaming .. ".minecraft" then libraries, net, minecraftforge installertools 1.1.4
(AppData maybe a hidden directory depending on your settings)
Just use the keyboard combination: WIndowsKey + R
then type %appdata% and press enter. next open the .minecraft folder. (it's a shortcut) You should know the rest from there.

I know this is an old post, but I've found the solution so i'm putting it here for others.

Was having the same issue with 1.12.2, it was saying 3 different libraries failed to download.

To solve it I went to C:\Users\(your user here)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\net\minecraftforge\forge and deleted everything inside.  I probably didn't need to delete all the forge versions, just the 1.12.2 ones, but it fixed the problem regardless.
