[1.12.2] Need help to create cables/wires

Hi! I'm Lotte, and I'm French so my English isn't the best. I've been modding a little, and I really wish to make a machinery/tech one. Tho, well, I have no clue how to figure out to implements cables/wires. I've been asking few people for help, but they couldn't help or simply said it was too hard.

I've been following Harry Talks's tutorials about energy, but he said doing a cables tutorial was out of his reach.

 

Basically, I'm looking to make three different types of blocks for now:

> Producers who can generate and store a slightly bit of energy

                             v

> Storages who stores tons of energy

                             v

> Machines who uses energy

 

So I would need cables to link them together, I've been thinking to give a look at the code of hoppers, but ehhh...

If it could work as Industrial Craft 2, that would be perfect!
