Hey all! I'm trying to get a custom model from Techne loaded into the game, but its being a pain in the arse...

The attached is a screenshot of how it currently looks in-game:

Here is the code that I have:

CampfireRender.java

package Kennedyfreak.survivalchaos;

import net.minecraft.block.Block;
import net.minecraft.client.renderer.RenderBlocks;
import net.minecraft.client.renderer.tileentity.TileEntitySpecialRenderer;
import net.minecraft.tileentity.TileEntity;
import net.minecraft.world.IBlockAccess;

import org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11;

import cpw.mods.fml.client.registry.ISimpleBlockRenderingHandler;

public class CampfireRender extends TileEntitySpecialRenderer implements ISimpleBlockRenderingHandler
{
public CampfireRender()
{
	aModel = new ModelCampfire();
}

	GL11.glPushMatrix(); //  }
	GL11.glPopMatrix();
	GL11.glPopMatrix();
}

public void renderTileEntityAt(TileEntity tileentity, double d, double d1, double d2, float f)
{
	renderAModelAt((TestEntityClass)tileentity, d, d1, d2, f);
}

You forgot to load texture.

You have to put something like this

Minecraft.getMinecraft().renderEngine.bindTexture("/mods/SurvivalChaos/textures/blocks/Campfire.png");

in

public void renderAModelAt(TestEntityClass tileentity1, double d, double d1, double d2, float f)
{
	GL11.glPushMatrix();
//Add this line here
Minecraft.getMinecraft().renderEngine.bindTexture("/mods/SurvivalChaos/textures/blocks/Campfire.png");
//  {
	GL11.glTranslatef((float) d + 0.5F, (float) d1 + 0.5F, (float) d2 + 0.5F);
	GL11.glPushMatrix(); //  }
	GL11.glPopMatrix();
	GL11.glPopMatrix();
}

Just modify the string in bindTexture so, that it fits Your folder structure.

Texture is best put in:

mcp/src/minecraft/mods/SurvivalChaos (or anything what You have as Your mod id)/textures/blocks/Block texture.png

Did i help?

I really appreciate the help, although that didn't work... This link:

is the link to the dropbox file for my Techne model, I still appreciate the help you've given me Senitiel, and I still need some more help...

I don't know how you register CampfireRender (also your code looks like a hybrid of forge and modloader so I could be mistaken), but if you don't force it a render id manualy it just takes it from:

CampfireRender.java

	public int getRenderId() {
	return 0;
}

mnn.getNativeLang() != English

If I helped you please click on the "thank you" button.

Hmm, I took a closer look at Your code.

In survivalChaos, change this line

public static Block campfire = new BlockCampfire(508, Material.wood).setUnlocalizedName("campfire").setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabDecorations);

And add a field:

public static int campfireRenderId = -12;//Any number, but I'm not sure if the range isn't limited somehow

BlockCampfire

@Override
    public int getRenderType()
    {
        return SurvivalCHaos.blockCampfireRenderId;
    }

In clientproxy

   RenderingRegistry.registerBlockHandler(SurvivalChaos.campfireRenderId, CampfireRender.getInstance());

In CampfireRender

add this:

public static CampfireRender instance;

public static ISimpleBlockRenderingHandler getInstance() {
	if(instance==null)
	{
		instance = new CampfireRender();
	}
	return instance;
}

change this:

@Override
public boolean renderWorldBlock(IBlockAccess world, int x, int y, int z,
		Block block, int modelId, RenderBlocks renderer) {
	return false;
}

to something like this:

	TileEntity tempTile = world.getBlockTileEntity(x, y, z);
	if(tempTile!=null)
	{
		renderTileEntityAt(tempTile,(double)x,(double)y,(double)z,1.0F);
		return true;
	}
	return false;

Also remember to call aModel.render method after pushmatrix and before popmatrix in renderAModelAt

    • It depends on the data you want to save, but generally speaking you should use some custom Player Capabilities, attach to the Player and use them to store/retrieve any kind of data you want. You can find how to make them work for 1.20.x in the documentation here: https://docs.minecraftforge.net/en/latest/datastorage/capabilities/
