Hi,

I have been working with a friend to create a modded server using forge. I have two servers, one on 1.12.2 and 1.14.4. I can use all mods on a single player map, however on multiplayer, i have watched many videos and gone through different guides to figure out my predicament. I have a server from apex which is not a vanilla server ( 3G and 2G both dedicated). Mods such as Biome O Plenty and midnight do not work even though i can see them in creative mode inventory (can't be placed or spawned). other mods that give me a map or tweak some characters work though.

This has all the symptoms of having mods on the client but not the server.

Also you are aware that mods will not work across versions, right?

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

Well i did install the mods the roaming file the game itself and in the mod file in the server files. As I stated before, some work that are very simple such as Xaeros Map, however, a mod such as Biome O plenty does not want to work. Being able to see some mods work suggest to me that the server is not vanilla. The server is a forge server.

The roaming file is where the data is stored for the game itself. Placing the mods in the file allows me to play the mods in single player mode. In terms of install the mods as i followed instructions:
Download the mod (biomes O Plenty),
Insure you have latest Java,

Insure you installed the correct version of forge. (1.12 and 1.14)

I also used this videos to create and mod:

As well as the guides that follow them. I also used instructions for 1.12

In terms  of verifying, I went to the control panel of my server to see weather it show the server is minecraft 1.12 or 1.14 or a forge 1.12 or 1.14.  From what I understood, if the server is a mod server is a mod server it should be a forge server. If you have any other suggestions it would be nice.
