I have never played Minecraft before and recently I found that Pixelmon seemed to be a lot of fun so I decided to install it. I followed their instruction (i.e. install Minecraft --> Forge --> Pixelmon) however a weird thing happened on both my mac and windows. After I put the pixelmon mod inside the mods folder and run the game, no Pixelmon showed in the mod list so I went back to the Minecraft folder and found there was a new mods folder inside that previous mods folder (along with "config", "logs", "resourcepacks" and "saves" folders, please see attached screenshot). So then I tried to put the mod inside that "new" mods folder and run the game again, guess what another mods folder showed inside that "new" mods folder and so the process went on. It was like Russian dolls if you know what I mean. I have downloaded the newest version of Minecraft and tried two versions of Forge with it (1.14.4-28.1.0 and 1.12.2-14.23.5.2838) but same thing happened both times. I also tried a different mod "twilight forest" and same thing happened again. I have only found one post on internet that had the same problem but that one was not resolved. So I really don't know what I should do now and really hope you can please point me some directions for my next step. Set the launcher profile's GameDir property to the pack's instance folder (not the instances folder, the folder that has the pack's name on it). Now launch the pack through that profile and follow the "Mojang Launcher" instructions above. Posting your mod as a GitHub Repo: Spoiler When you have an issue with your mod the most helpful thing you can do when asking for help is to provide your code to those helping you. The most convenient way to do this is via GitHub or another source control hub. When setting up a GitHub Repo it might seem easy to just upload everything, however this method has the potential for mistakes that could lead to trouble later on, it is recommended to use a Git client or to get comfortable with the Git command line. The following instructions will use the Git Command Line and as such they assume you already have it installed and that you have created a repository. Open a command prompt (CMD, Powershell, Terminal, etc). Navigate to the folder you extracted Forge’s MDK to (the one that had all the licenses in). Run the following commands: git init git remote add origin [Your Repository's URL] In the case of GitHub it should look like: https://GitHub.com/[Your Username]/[Repo Name].git git fetch git checkout --track origin/master git stage * git commit -m "[Your commit message]" git push Navigate to GitHub and you should now see most of the files. note that it is intentional that some are not synced with GitHub and this is done with the (hidden) .gitignore file that Forge’s MDK has provided (hence the strictness on which folder git init is run from) Now you can share your GitHub link with those who you are asking for help. I think I did change the Java Arguments from 2G to 3G (please see attached screenshot 9). But according to my memory, at least one of my previous tries, I did not change the arguments but still got the same thing happening to me. Other than that I don't recall changing anything else. I have tried again, selected "forge" and hit play and still no twilight forest showing under mod (please see attached screenshot 7, 8, 11). So what do you think? P.S.
