so i want to run a moded server but it crashes beacuse it dosent have enugh ram and when i write the code to add more ram it doesnt want to run the server pls help
-i have 16gram

-gtx 1070

-intel i7 8700
so specs shuldnt be a problem

You have 32 Bit Java installed, uninstall it and install 64-Bit Java.

Note: For Forge 1.12.2 and older you will need Java 8 specifically, for Forge 1.13 and later you can use Java 8 through 10

Post your installer log, found in the same place you ran the installer

This log will be called either installer.log or named the same as the installer but with .log on the end

Note for Windows users:

Windows hides file extensions by default so the installer may appear without the .jar extension then when the .log is added the log will appear with the .jar extension

Where to get it:

Mojang Launcher: When using the Mojang launcher debug.log is found in .minecraft\logs.

Curse/Overwolf: If you are using the Curse Launcher, their configurations break Forge's log settings, fortunately there is an easier workaround than I originally thought, this works even with Curse's installation of the Minecraft launcher as long as it is not launched THROUGH Twitch:

  I think I answered my own question: It appears OpenJDK 21 is the newest supported version. The Forge config fml.toml has this but it doesn't affect version checking of OpenJDK: #Enable forge global version checking versionCheck = false

  I'm running OpenJDK 24 just fine on PaperMC, Spigot, and Minecraft using Linux. This is a special version that I compiled from source so it has all of the features without the debug bloat. I believe it will run anything that I throw at it so can I tell Forge to ignore the version/turn off version checking? If so, how? What is the highest version of OpenJDK that is supported by Forge? I searched the forum and didn't find anything. Sorry! Thank you, R
