Mods/1.12.2/mod name here.... use to work. Not anymore

I have noticed that Before 1.14.4 that putting mods in a separate folder to keep them organized use to work and they could be read by forge in those folders and it was glorious with all the different versions.  But After 1.12.2 you can no longer have a separate folder.  Now if they are not directly under mods/ folder they do not register.  Can you Please put this feature back.   Its a real pain having to delete and replace every time I try a different version.    Thank you.

This feature was removed because Launcher Profiles (Mojang calls them "Installations") serve this purpose better

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

WOW! holly mother of all that is minecraft!  I didnt realize that was what the directory was for. I thought it was to launch the actual game!!  Thanks for the information.. Changing all profiles now. Thank you so much.

Yeah, I was shocked when I have found this too. I have recently created a server and couldn't understand how to install mods. I was shocked when I found out that it's that easy. I have launched a very nice server, and added a lot of mods on it, so it's very interesting. I have used a very good minecraft hosting, so it doesn't have any lags at all, and I am very satisfied with it.
