Posted January 20, 20205 yr In my flat tiles block class i have this: public BlockState updatePostPlacement(BlockState stateIn, Direction facing, BlockState facingState, IWorld worldIn, BlockPos currentPos, BlockPos facingPos) { return !stateIn.isValidPosition(worldIn, currentPos) ? Blocks.AIR.getDefaultState() : super.updatePostPlacement(stateIn, facing, facingState, worldIn, currentPos, facingPos); } public boolean isValidPosition(BlockState state, IWorldReader worldIn, BlockPos pos) { return !worldIn.isAirBlock(pos.down()); } It´s from the carpet block and wmkes impossible to place it on air. But it includes a depricated method: super.updatePostPlacement(stateIn, facing, facingState, worldIn, currentPos, facingPos); which method can i use here instead, that i get no more deprication warning?
January 20, 20205 yr Don't worry about it. Mojang marks some methods as deprecated when they really mean "don't call". Unless the original method has a comment from Forge telling you what to use instead, it's okay to override it. I'm eager to learn and am prone to mistakes. Don't hesitate to tell me how I can improve.

Only in the Block class - it means "Call from BlockState, override in Block".
