Why this block has such a weird gradient effect?

As i now tested my mod, i saw this effect:

The square-part of this block uses the official minecraft white concrete texture.

Why it appears with this weird gradient effect?

Im nowhere near a expert, but dosent it kinda look like a shadow glitch of some sort, or maybe a shading glitch?

again, Im nowhere near expert, so Im probably wrong about this.
