Forge 1.12.2 server won't open

Hi, i have a simple problem.. when i click on the forge.jar to start the server, it simply runs cmd and close it immediately, no file output, no log output, nothing.. when i do it with the original minecraft 1.12.2 server .jar, it runs perfectly, creating files, folders, etc.. what's the problem? I tried to run it by a .bat "java -jar forge.jar nogui" but nothing.. i also renamed it "forge" to make it easier to remember, but i think that's not the problem because it didn't work anyway.. i tried to move the entire server folder to another directory which does not require administration permits, and tried to run it both normally and by the .bat, but nothing.. can anyone kindly help me understand what i am doing wrong? (sorry for any grammatical errors, i'm Italian with a basic knowledge of English).

Please update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.
