Hello, I used the forge website to download the "recommended" installer. I've tried using the minecraft launcher to launch forge but it keeps crashing before even opening.

I keep getting this error "The game crashed whilst initializing game Error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/minecraft/world/IEnviromentBlockReader"

The following is my entire crash report

(I think I was supposed to put it in a spoiler in order to collapse it, sorry if I did that wrong)

Generally, I'm not a super duper techy guy so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

My vanilla minecraft works, and is up to date on version 1.15.2

I'm using forge version "1.15.2-forge-31.1.0"

I have only one mod installed "Cooking for Blockheads" and I have the newest version of that mod

        - Important note, that mod's page says it has dependencies but I didn't download those, because it doesn't seem they are the same as other mods that NEED certain types of stuff to work, and also specifically I am doing all of this to play on a private Aternos server on which we can only download mods that have a version compatible with 1.15.2 Minecraft (Pams harvestcraft which was one of the dependencies does not yet, for example). It is possible this is part of the problem but I didn't want to download MORE mods because I couldn't see any way in which that makes the problem less complicated.

I have Java 1.8, 64 and 32 bit

If there's any info i'm missing, let me know.

Thank you for any help you can possibly give.

Oh, i should only have 64? Would you mind explaining why? I thought each version had it's different uses but they didn't interfere with each other.

And, gosh I can't believe i missed that. Well, I guess that's the problem, I'll delete the mod and see if it works

Thank you

I used to think you needed 32-Bit for 32-Bit programs and 64-Bit for 64-Bit programs.

Later I found out this wasn't the case even though at the time, and still to this day, java.com's download button gives you an installer for 32-Bit Java.

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.
