Posted May 13, 20205 yr I haven't been able to find definitive info on this. Usually, you would want blockstate, model, and loot table JSONs (at least) for each block in a mod. What I'd really like to do is have the information generated at initialization based on code. I know this can be done and output to a folder of generated JSONs, but I don't want to have to go and copy the JSONs each time. I might be registering hundreds of blocks, and I feel that hanging on to 3 JSON files for each is... clunky. Is there a way to have the information generated and held in memory instead? Would that take up too much memory? Any thoughts on the issue are appreciated.
May 13, 20205 yr Use Data Generators to generate the JSON files, there's no need to copy any files. There's a discussion of the system and some links to examples here: Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.
