I don't know how to install forge?

Help please, it's my first time with mods and I wanna try it out but I don't know how to install forge. Can someone help? Which .jar file of forge do I use, the Installer, or the Launcher?

Please help, I'm very confused :/.

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

Do NOT use sites like Mediafire, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or a site that has a countdown before offering downloads.

Note for Windows users:

Windows hides file extensions by default so the installer may appear without the .jar extension then when the .log is added the log will appear with the .jar extension

Where to get it:

Mojang Launcher: When using the Mojang launcher debug.log is found in .minecraft\logs.

Curse/Overwolf: If you are using the Curse Launcher, their configurations break Forge's log settings, fortunately there is an easier workaround than I originally thought, this works even with Curse's installation of the Minecraft launcher as long as it is not launched THROUGH Twitch:

If you don't see logs generated in the usual place, provide the launcher_log.txt from .minecraft

Yeah, I have one now. I clicked this jar file of Forge in my .minecraft folder, and the mods folder (and i think more stuff too) appeared.

But, another question. If a mod was made for 1.12, for example, will it work with 1.15 or only 1.12?

How do you add a mob to spawn around a existing vanilla structure?

So I have a custom mob that I wanna spawn around pillager outposts naturally. maybe with only 1 limit. But I can't seem to find the right path for it.
Like doing it similar to how pillagers spawn.

downloading the modpack from at launcher got it working..... seems like there was some weird downloading with 2 of the mods failing virus scans.
