Item in the main hand of an entity with a custom model..

Hi! I'm making a mod in 1.12 and I made a custom entity with a custom model. I added the code "setEquipmentBasedOnDifficulty" in the class of the entity that allow the entity to have an item on the hand. But i have a problem to show that. The only methode i found is putting the model of entity to biped, but in this way i have my entity with a biped model and a glitched texture. So how can i render the item on the hand with the custom model? Thanks in advance.
