Non-instantaneous crafting

I'd like to make a mod that alters the way that basic crafting works in both the player's crafting grid, and the vanilla crafting bench. I'd like to make it so that crafting is not instantaneous, and instead there is a delay for each item crafted. For example, the delay could be set to 1 second, and if you tried to craft a stack of items, you would have to wait 64 seconds for them all to be crafted. For anyone with the appropriate experience, is this behavior possible? Can someone point me in the right direction? Perhaps another mod that alters basic crafting behavior in a similar way.

Yes.

Although you would need to replace the player's crafting inventory with a custom one, as well as attach a Capability that stores the data of the current craft to the player.

    • Hi, I'm trying to render a single quad in the world. I'm mixing into the ChestRenderer class. If I understand correctly, BufferSource#getBuffer opens a buffer according to the supplied RenderType (Quads with POSITION_COLOR in my case). Then, I can supply my vertices (a simple 1-block plane along the Z Axis) and close the buffer using BufferSource#endBatch for rendering.
