Hello I am trying to implement a few furnaces into the game. And I am having two big errors. The first error is this, when I made my first furnace brick furnace everything is fine. But when I added the stone furnace to the game and try to click on either furnace I get this error.

Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: mods.gamersmods.fuelresourceful.tileentity.TileEntityStoneFurnace cannot be cast to mods.gamersmods.fuelresourceful.tileentity.TileEntityBrickFurnace

at mods.gamersmods.fuelresourceful.common.CommonProxy.getServerGuiElement(CommonProxy.java:25)

 

Now I believe this has something to do with my proxys because if I remove the code the gui wont open but it dose not crash

 

The second error is not such a big deal but it still needs to be fixed. The error is basically the item render of it in you inventory. It is basically looking backwards like a normal brick and you don't see the furnace front.

Not sure about your icon problem but your error comes from the CommonProxy.getServerGuiElement()

TileEntityBrickFurnace tileEntity = (TileEntityBrickFurnace)world.getBlockTileEntity(x, y, z);
TileEntityStoneFurnace tileEntity1 = (TileEntityStoneFurnace)world.getBlockTileEntity(x, y, z);

if(tileEntity != null) {
...
}

 

This is not a valid way to check an object type. Use instanceof instead.

 

TileEntity tileEntity = world.getBlockTileEntity(x, y, z);
if (tileEntity instanceof TileEntityBrickFurnace) {

    ((TileEntityBrickFurnace) tileEntity).doSomething();
    ...
}
else if (tileEntity instanceof TileEntityStoneFurnace) {
    ...

I did what you said and changed the code in the commonproxy and client proxy to this

What I need to so is make it look at the front of the block in the players inventory not the back of it.

these block look like normal stone and bricks because its showing the back of the block instead of the front of the furnace

no problem. I've had my share of problems (and still do today) so I try to help as much as I can because it's so frustrating trying to get a mod to work when you're trying something new that you've never done before.

Hey dude sorry for the trouble but when I added the third furnace I got this error and forgot how to fix it.

 

 

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot 1002 is already occupied by mods.gamersmods.fuelresourceful.block.BlockStoneBrickFurnace@77fe2c5b when adding mods.gamersmods.fuelresourceful.block.BlockBrickFurnace@501247e8

 

 

I know what the error is like I said, but forget how to fix it.
