Hi,

I decided to go on a mod spree yesterday, and a few mods required Forge.  I'm all for Forge, but after installing via MC Patcher, I was having so much fun with my Backpack mod.  Then I changed my texture pack to faithful 32x32.  At this point in time, my water, lava, and fire became invisible.  My attempt to fix it didn't go so well either.  I cleaned my minecraft folder out, and installed Forge by itself, and my first test just kept me at the Mojang screen.  I'm not sure how to get any logs, since I never really crashed.

Don't use MCPatcher to install Forge, or any mods after Forge. If you can't do it manually, try using MultiMC, as I hear that works fine. And if you're wanting full HD texture support, install Optifine.

MCPatcher and Forge don't get along. It does things it shouldn't do even if you tell it not to.

I just installed Forge using MCPatcher, and it works fine now... I'm beginning to think that ModLoader was the problem.

Read my previous post. It has red text in it for a reason. There have been tons of threads before having problems because of MCPatcher...

Also, yes. ModLoader functionality is built into Forge itself as of version 3.3.7, so you shouldn't install it.
