How the frick does it work?

So i've just tried to get forge 1.12.2 for Minecraft. I went to this site and downloaded the version I wanted. But then when I open the files I'm met by this. Pretty much every video or online guide say there's just supposed to be a download screen, not a million documents and coding files. Did I miss something or what? I have literally no idea what to do with this, i've clicked on pretty much everything and still don't have a clue.

So I tried to download forge 1.12.2, but was only met by a whole folder of code and maps. I asked about it here, but was shot down because 1.12.2 isn't supported. So I tried again with the latest version. Still the same. Did I miss something or does my computer just hate me?

FoxyWoxy In Wemmbus videos the stab shots are with tnt minecarts and not tnt. Yours works ok but I would appreciate that change in the future. Thanks!

Having an issue

do you notice that it stops the internal server for the singleplayer worlds.

here are some lines that you should take a look:
