Mod Portals not working on server

I made a forge server on a linux machine, I can connect to the server just fine, but when I try to use portals from mods, such as ratlantis and underworld, the portals spawn and appear, but when I walk into the portal, nothing happens. But if I go to singleplayer, I can go through the portals just fine.
