Hello!

I am totally new in MC-Modding. i have just set up my IntelliJ-Enviroment and now i try to add a first Test-Material from a Modding-Tutorial. I have done some Java-Coding years ago and really need to get in this again, this will take a little time.

I hope you can help me with a problem now:

I hava attached two files, they are nearly 1:1 copies of the modding-tutorial.

In IntelliJ I get the following error:

  Quote

C:\Minecraft Mod Timstar\src\main\java\com\example\examplemod\RegistryHandler.java:22: error: cannot find symbol
    public static final DeferredRegister<Item> ITEMS = DeferredRegister.create(ForgeRegistries.ITEMS, ExampleMod.MODID);
                        ^
  symbol:   class DeferredRegister
  location: class RegistryHandler

Expand

What am I doing wrong, can you help me?

Kind Regards,

Sebix 馃檪

Did you seriously try to import something called "..."?

Are you not using an IDE?

I use IntelliJ. And yes - I tried it.

It was in the tutorial mod. But I was sure it was just the hidden imports, so i deleted it.

After your post I thought it could be some "spooky MC/gradle"-Stuff. But after trying and posting I was sure I did just nonsense. 馃お

Dude.

Stop messing with the imports manually. Just write your code. If you need DeferredRegister, type DeferredRegister, hit Ctrl-Space and select it. It will auto-import.

This was the right hint. I think the problem was, that I copied and pasted the code into the existing files and the autoimport didn麓t recognize the missing imports. Now it seems to work. Thank you very much. :)

If you are using IntelliJ, hovering over the errored/missing classes should give you an option to import those classes. I'd recommend learning how to use your IDE first before continuing.

Follow these rules when talking to me, and we'll get along fine.

1).I know Java fairly well. I don't know as much about modding. They are not the same, don't compare them.

2). I consider myself to always be learning. I make mistakes, you make mistakes. Who doesn't?

3). Insult me, and I will leave the thread. I have a real life, I don't have time to throw petty insults in a Minecraft Modding forum.

    • Idk how i didn't notice that, but I deleted it and fixed some other issues and now I get this https://mclo.gs/YsWacqq
    • I found Bedrock_Miner's old site and I was interested in the Furnace Minecart Inventory mod. But all the links to the mod files are dead, there were apparently no uploads to other sites either, so the only hope is that the mods were saved on someone's cloud or disk. If someone remembers that perhaps downloaded them in the first half of the 10's, I will be glad if someone to share them. https://web.archive.org/web/20151227195157/http://bedrockminer.jimdo.com/mods/furnace-minecart-inventory#expand
