How do I put an overlay behind an item when it is in the inventory?
NOTE: I don't want this overlay to be seen when the item is in the player's hand.

Oh, but i want to do it dynamically. The overlay image based on item NBT.

What do you mean? I want to, depending on the item's NBT, place a background image (the "overlay"). In total there are 8 different overlays.

But, there are no IItemPropertyGetter for 1.8.9.
