OK, my eyes are hurting from looking so much, maybe its too late at night and im blind but with the new launcher and apparently Forge moving to a Solid Jar file for Universal, which is what I have also used. I am lost. I have grown so accustom to editing the main minecraft jar file that this new forge has stopped me dead on my tracks. So any help for a totally exhausted player just trying to pay minecraft would be really awesome.

go here http://files.minecraft forge.net/ and grab the installer

run minecraft 1 time to grab 1.6.1 minecraft

run the installer and click OK

go into profile selection

and select forge

log-in and have fun

note not many mods Ar reedy for 1.6.1

Awesome! thank you very much did that and worked perfectly now to just get the mods working on what already has been updated lol. I just reallyuse Rei's minimap and Optifine.
