    This is possible, but is not supported here and there are no tutorials. And ultimately the absolute last resort. You should just replace the entities with custom ones when they are spawned.

  2. How do objects like "PathNavigate" and many others persist across saves?

    Unless there is a writeNBT() type method in the class, or some other class that grabs data from the class, then it probably isn't actually saved.
