Can you reproduce the problem with ONLY forge installed? EDIT: When I said only Forge, I meant that you take out Forestry too.

Re-run vanilla 1.6.4 and re-install forge. This time, USE THE INSTALLER.

Update your launcher from minecraft.net, you should be using launchwrapper 1.8. Or re-run vanilla and reinstall forge.

Ask mod authors

If you're using a modpack then it's the modpack's responsibility to make sure end users can use 1.5.2 properly (ie. package our libraries with their pack, it's perfectly legal). If not, then as Lex said, either stop using 1.5.2 because we don't support it anymore, OR fix your own problems using the help provided in the EAQ. 1.5 is EOLed, we're already starting the 1.7 update.

1) Then it's up to the modder to ensure he does the changes before and while updating to 1.7. We don't believe in handholding modders and users here at Forge. 2) It's your responsibility to know that your world will break if you choose to remove a mod.
