  1. I mean I keep trying to attach a png of the java error that pops up and what the console looks like.
  2. I keep trying to attach an image but it isn't working... anyways it just says "Setting up logger: C:\Users\darai\Desktop\forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.255.jar.log and then Java crashes and the window saying "Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working" pops up. There is no other "error log". It tries to set up the logger whatever that means and then crashes.
  3. Where would I find said "error log in the console"?
  4. Okay. Thanks for the help though. Hopefully, I figure this out one day...
  5. When I click on the windows version of the download nothing happens and it generates a blank log file. When I click the non-windows version Java crashes I'm starting to lose hope here
  6. I'm using the non-windows one because the windows one was doing nothing when I clicked it I tried the command again and this time the same thing as before happened... "Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working.
  7. It also created a blank file called "java" on my desktop (it's blank when opened in notepad at least idk)...
  8. The upload of the image keeps failing but it says "Error: Unable to access jarfile forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.255.jar"
  9. Alright. I downloaded Java Version 8 Update 144 which is 2 versions older than the most recent one. Now instead of giving an error message the file just doesn't open at all. The cursor turns into the loading hourglass when I double click it but ultimately nothing happens, and Java doesn't appear to be opening in task manager. When I use cmd to open it I get this:
  10. Okay. I'll reply back here with my results once I download the older version...
  11. It said, "Setting up logger: C:\Users\darai\Desktop\forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.2602-installer.jar.log" but then Java still crashed like before. Guess it'll look for an older version of java to use
  12. Okay I'll try that real quick before I start messing with old java versions
  13. Yeah, it's on the desktop. I didn't realize that would be a problem because it's just an installer file right? If it has to be like in the .minecraft folder before you launch it I'm about to feel really dumb lol
  14. Alright. I'll try looking at some older versions. Do you have windows 10? If so what Java version works with your machine?
  15. My Java version is the current one, "Version 8 Update 161" maybe this new version is somehow broken with Windows 10? It did just come out 6 days ago...
