  1. So I've made a few new grass blocks for a mod, and have used the correct block type for them, and even added them to the "dirt" tags, but for some reason they don't allow me to put flowers or plants on them? Stranger still, is that it works in one specific world, and if i load that world, and then another, it works again, but on a fresh startup, any new world still has the issue. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Thank you!
  2. I'm not quite sure what you mean by copy versus extend. As it stands currently I believe I've done what you said, as the code has already been copied over, it functions exactly the same as a Stone cutter, using stonecutter recipes, but it just has a different menu name, essentially a duplicate stonecutter, rather than extending the stonecutter. I'm just unsure on 1) Checking the inventory for materials similar to recipe book as I can't seem to find it's base code. and 2) creating it's own recipe type in which each item can require multiple materials.
  3. So I want to use the Stonecutter menu as a basis for my custom crafting block, and so far I've made the new class, made the bock and linked them so when you right click the block it opens the menu, which functions exactly like the Stonecutter. However, I'd like to make a few alterations that I hope to be able to get some insight on. I wanna remove the input slot, instead just checking the inventory for all required materials, and have all possible recipes be displayed, and only the recipes with all the correct materials can be made, similar to the recipe book minus the crafting table. Sorta like the system in Skyrim, where for example you'd need 10 leather strips, 4 iron bars, and 2 sticks to make an axe.
  4. After some time, I've managed to get it to be able to summon a ghast fireball (as a test) on keybind, and it works fine, however it just spawns the entity, rather than giving it movement. This is the current code I have to summon the entity, I just need to add motion to it. And I do apologise, I'm just incredibly stupid, idk anything about Java - _ -' public boolean handle(Supplier<NetworkEvent.Context> supplier) { NetworkEvent.Context context = supplier.get(); context.enqueueWork( () -> { ServerPlayer player = context.getSender(); ServerLevel level = player.getLevel(); EntityType.FIREBALL.spawn(level, null, null, player.blockPosition(), MobSpawnType.COMMAND, true, false); }); return true; }
  5. so I've been following this tutorial to get a projectile to shoot at a keypress, and in the video it works fine, however I run into the issue where it says that INSTANCE returns null. I even copy/pasted over the code to make sure I hadn't made a mistake, and yet the issue still persist, within the lines: public static <MSG> void sendToServer(MSG message) { INSTANCE.sendToServer(message); } and subsequently ModMessages.sendToServer(new MagicC2SPacket()); My code is the exact same as the tutorial video, so I'm unsure as to why the game crashes and returns a null value. Is there a new way as of 1.19.2?
  6. So I followed Modding by Kaupenjoe's tutorial on keybinds for 1.19, and that's all working fine, however I want to make it a mechanic, in which you press the button, it fires a magic projectile and applies and effect to the target, and has a cooldown before being able to use again. However there's no clear "Fire Projectile" with my current code. I assume I'd need to create my own custom projectile class, with visual effects, but how could I implement it into the keybind? All I'm trying to do as of yet is get it to fire an arrow where I'm looking and without an item and include a cooldown, Any advice is greatly appreciated ^ v ^ This is the current keybind Code: public static class ClientForgeEvents { @SubscribeEvent public static void onKeyInput(InputEvent.Key event) { if(Keybindings.Cast_Magic.consumeClick()) { Minecraft.getInstance().player.getDirection().getOpposite(); } } }
  7. Ah! Thank you, it works now! At least now I know to do that when updating forge. Thank you! ^ v ^
  8. I ran the gradlew refresh dependencies and gradlew clean, but I've only been doing this for like... 5 days maybe? Is there a separate command for this? And thank you for responding btw ^ v ^
  9. So I tried to update to 1.19.2 for my mod, but changing the dependencies, but when I try to run the client, it says this in Intellij's "run" tab, any idea how to fix it? 2022-08-09 18:28:47,786 main WARN Advanced terminal features are not available in this environment [18:28:48] [main/INFO] [cp.mo.mo.Launcher/MODLAUNCHER]: ModLauncher running: args [--launchTarget, forgeclientuserdev, --version, MOD_DEV, --assetIndex, 1.19, --assetsDir, C:\Users\user\.gradle\caches\forge_gradle\assets, --gameDir, ., --fml.forgeVersion, 41.1.0, --fml.mcVersion, 1.19, --fml.forgeGroup, net.minecraftforge, --fml.mcpVersion, 20220607.102129] [18:28:48] [main/INFO] [cp.mo.mo.Launcher/MODLAUNCHER]: ModLauncher 10.0.8+10.0.8+main.0ef7e830 starting: java version 18.0.2 by Oracle Corporation; OS Windows 10 arch amd64 version 10.0 [18:28:48] [main/INFO] [mixin/]: SpongePowered MIXIN Subsystem Version=0.8.5 Source=union:/C:/Users/user/.gradle/caches/modules-2/files-2.1/org.spongepowered/mixin/0.8.5/9d1c0c3a304ae6697ecd477218fa61b850bf57fc/mixin-0.8.5.jar%23121!/ Service=ModLauncher Env=CLIENT Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalStateException: Could not find forge-1.19-41.1.0 in classpath at MC-BOOTSTRAP/fmlloader@1.19.2-43.0.2/net.minecraftforge.fml.loading.targets.CommonUserdevLaunchHandler.lambda$findJarOnClasspath$2(CommonUserdevLaunchHandler.java:46) at java.base/java.util.Optional.orElseThrow(Optional.java:403) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/fmlloader@1.19.2-43.0.2/net.minecraftforge.fml.loading.targets.CommonUserdevLaunchHandler.findJarOnClasspath(CommonUserdevLaunchHandler.java:46) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/fmlloader@1.19.2-43.0.2/net.minecraftforge.fml.loading.targets.ForgeUserdevLaunchHandler.processStreams(ForgeUserdevLaunchHandler.java:17) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/fmlloader@1.19.2-43.0.2/net.minecraftforge.fml.loading.targets.CommonUserdevLaunchHandler.getMinecraftPaths(CommonUserdevLaunchHandler.java:34) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/fmlloader@1.19.2-43.0.2/net.minecraftforge.fml.loading.moddiscovery.MinecraftLocator.scanMods(MinecraftLocator.java:36) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/fmlloader@1.19.2-43.0.2/net.minecraftforge.fml.loading.moddiscovery.ModDiscoverer.discoverMods(ModDiscoverer.java:74) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/fmlloader@1.19.2-43.0.2/net.minecraftforge.fml.loading.FMLLoader.beginModScan(FMLLoader.java:166) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/fmlloader@1.19.2-43.0.2/net.minecraftforge.fml.loading.FMLServiceProvider.beginScanning(FMLServiceProvider.java:86) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/cpw.mods.modlauncher@10.0.8/cpw.mods.modlauncher.TransformationServiceDecorator.runScan(TransformationServiceDecorator.java:112) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/cpw.mods.modlauncher@10.0.8/cpw.mods.modlauncher.TransformationServicesHandler.lambda$runScanningTransformationServices$8(TransformationServicesHandler.java:100) at java.base/java.util.stream.ReferencePipeline$3$1.accept(ReferencePipeline.java:197) at java.base/java.util.HashMap$ValueSpliterator.forEachRemaining(HashMap.java:1779) at java.base/java.util.stream.AbstractPipeline.copyInto(AbstractPipeline.java:509) at java.base/java.util.stream.AbstractPipeline.wrapAndCopyInto(AbstractPipeline.java:499) at java.base/java.util.stream.AbstractPipeline.evaluate(AbstractPipeline.java:575) at java.base/java.util.stream.AbstractPipeline.evaluateToArrayNode(AbstractPipeline.java:260) at java.base/java.util.stream.ReferencePipeline.toArray(ReferencePipeline.java:616) at java.base/java.util.stream.ReferencePipeline.toArray(ReferencePipeline.java:622) at java.base/java.util.stream.ReferencePipeline.toList(ReferencePipeline.java:627) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/cpw.mods.modlauncher@10.0.8/cpw.mods.modlauncher.TransformationServicesHandler.runScanningTransformationServices(TransformationServicesHandler.java:102) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/cpw.mods.modlauncher@10.0.8/cpw.mods.modlauncher.TransformationServicesHandler.initializeTransformationServices(TransformationServicesHandler.java:55) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/cpw.mods.modlauncher@10.0.8/cpw.mods.modlauncher.Launcher.run(Launcher.java:87) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/cpw.mods.modlauncher@10.0.8/cpw.mods.modlauncher.Launcher.main(Launcher.java:77) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/cpw.mods.modlauncher@10.0.8/cpw.mods.modlauncher.BootstrapLaunchConsumer.accept(BootstrapLaunchConsumer.java:26) at MC-BOOTSTRAP/cpw.mods.modlauncher@10.0.8/cpw.mods.modlauncher.BootstrapLaunchConsumer.accept(BootstrapLaunchConsumer.java:23) at cpw.mods.bootstraplauncher@1.1.2/cpw.mods.bootstraplauncher.BootstrapLauncher.main(BootstrapLauncher.java:141) Process finished with exit code 1
