  1. I'm making my own custom dimension and would like some nice custom caves (custom meaning that they are different from normal caves, i.e. different shapes). I looked at the MapGenCave and MapGenBase files, but couldn't manage to wade through the obfuscated variables. I did look for tutorials but didn't see any. Does anyone know of any decent tutorials? Even if they are a bit outdated, I could handle that, just something to get me started would be nice.
  2. Thanks, was thinking the forge home directory. That worked, setting it up now.
  3. This isn't anything professional, just a guess. When I was downloading my Minecraft a while ago, I had a similar error. After several redownloads mine craft eventually booted up. Don't really know what happened. You could try redownload forge/technic launcher.
  4. Sorry to be stupid, but where is my home gradle folder? I tried deleting the "gradle" folder in the forge folder, but that didn't work. Is there a tutorial on installing gradle manually?
  5. When I was trying to setup the dev workspace for Gradle, using eclipse. I've tried just about everything, including both methods in this thread http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php/topic,14048.0.html Neither works, in the eclipse method, it can't find any projects. When I do the command line I get this error bash gradlew setupDecompWorkspace Unzipping /Users/manila/.gradle/wrapper/dists/gradle-1.10-bin/6oa4rff9viiqskhgd6uns5v1f8/gradle-1.10-bin.zip to /Users/manila/.gradle/wrapper/dists/gradle-1.10-bin/6oa4rff9viiqskhgd6uns5v1f8 Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeEx
  6. Figured out the problem. The constructor that initializes myBiomeGen (the field that is null), never runs. What I don't get is how to fix the problem. Does anyone know what I should call in the WorldProvider to make it work. EDIT: Figured it out, had to call the constructor that took a world type as a parameter. Unfortunately it spawned me in a vanilla biome, but at least it is working. Thanks for your help GreyGhost
  7. Do breakpoints normally work in forge eclipse?
  8. No, how would I do that? Breakpoints don't seems to work.
  9. I'm having a problem we're I'm getting null pointer exception. I'm trying to make my own custom dimension with multiple biomes. [spoiler=Full Log]Dec 9, 2013 4:13:47 PM net.minecraft.launchwrapper.LogWrapper log INFO: Loading tweak class name cpw.mods.fml.common.launcher.FMLTweaker Dec 9, 2013 4:13:47 PM net.minecraft.launchwrapper.LogWrapper log INFO: Using primary tweak class name cpw.mods.fml.common.launcher.FMLTweaker Dec 9, 2013 4:13:47 PM net.minecraft.launchwrapper.LogWrapper log INFO: Calling tweak class cpw.mods.fml.common.launcher.FMLTweaker 2013-12-09 16:13:47 [iNF
  10. Thanks for your help! I changed the getInts method and it worked, sorta. Now I have another similar error. Any idea why line 155 is null?
  11. I'm making a dimension with multiple biomes, which is a pain, (If you know of a good tutorial for that please tell me the link) and I got an error "Exception Generating New Chunk", it was caused by a "java.lang.NullPointerException". I have some code below with the full crash report. This occurred when generating my new dimension (called "The Ender"). The name of the mod is the Ender Mod, and the main file name is Ender.java. I have posted only what I think is relevant, if you need more please ask me. (Sorry if I seem rude, I don't mean to be). Full Log: CrashReport:
  12. How does the mod know which buildings count as houses?
  13. I have proposed a site for modders stackexchange.com. For those of you that don't know Stack Exchange is a network of Q&A sites, each site is based on a certain topic. Any person can post question and any person can answer them. That would get crazy, but the way it works is that once you get a certain reputation (how you get that I will explain in a minute), you can up vote and down vote questions/answers. A good answer will rise to the top, and a bad answer will fall to the bottom. You get reputation by correctly answering questions, have your question/answer up voted, and a few other, mo
  14. Does anyone know any good tutorials for a custom chunk manager? I'm trying to make my own dimension, and I'm currently working on generating it with custom biomes. A text tutorial would be preferred.
