Every time I try to launch Forge for 1.12.2 (Version 14.23.5.2855) it always crashes, before I even get the chance to even see it load up, and I need 1.12.2 for a mod and I can't downgrade forge either because those version also crash/don't even install and I can't fix it and don't know how to fix it

1.12 is no longer supported on this forum.

Please update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

      help using the usingConvertsTo method with a custom item

      I am trying to make a custom item that converts to another custom item when eaten. The food properties includes "usingConvertsTo(ModItems.ITEM_NAME.get())", however since the item is not yet registered during the registration process, the get() method returns null. Is there any way to work around this?

      This is my first time setting up a minecraft server, and I had wanted to add modding capabilities with forge but I keep getting errors while installing? I have tried installing several versions of forge but i have ended up getting unable to find class and checksum errors?       Game gives saving world and crashes after clicking create new world
