Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError (Caused by: java.util.NoSuchElementException: No value present)

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to play modded 1.17.1 for at least an hour now, took out all the mods in the mods folder (especially OptiFine) and my game works fine as of Minecraft 1.17.1 and with just OptiFIne 1.17.1  but when I try to play Minecraft with Forge 37.0.2 without OptiFine the game still crashes with exit code 1.

Haven't tried to just load forge with no mods yet but I already know that forge would fail to load still...

There's no crash report or log and the debug logs aren't going to help as of the files themselves because I viewed them myself and only saw two or four lines of info and the latest log only has two lines as well.

The only log or debug log that I can provide is through screenshots;

1278801948_Screenshot(11).thumb.png.55536d99c51af3230f4cfd87f84d2667.png

1742487788_Screenshot(13).thumb.png.f2e607e8d1fa73b33c72ada547401004.png

But if you still insist of me sending the debug files then here, see for yourself to see what I saw within them then;

latest.log

debug.log

This info below came from a source that I'm not willing to tell but it should help tho...

Please provide a screenshot of your launcher

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

Spoiler

Logs (Most issues require logs to diagnose):

Spoiler

Please post logs using one of the following sites (Thank you Lumber Wizard for the list):

https://gist.github.com/100MB Requires member (Free)

https://pastebin.com/: 512KB as guest, 10MB as Pro ($$$)

https://hastebin.com/: 400KB

Do NOT use sites like Mediafire, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or a site that has a countdown before offering downloads.

What to provide:

...for Crashes and Runtime issues:

Minecraft 1.14.4 and newer:

Post debug.log

Older versions:

Please update...

...for Installer Issues:

Post your installer log, found in the same place you ran the installer

This log will be called either installer.log or named the same as the installer but with .log on the end

Note for Windows users:

Windows hides file extensions by default so the installer may appear without the .jar extension then when the .log is added the log will appear with the .jar extension

Where to get it:

Mojang Launcher: When using the Mojang launcher debug.log is found in .minecraft\logs.

Curse/Overwolf: If you are using the Curse Launcher, their configurations break Forge's log settings, fortunately there is an easier workaround than I originally thought, this works even with Curse's installation of the Minecraft launcher as long as it is not launched THROUGH Twitch:

Spoiler
  1. Make sure you have the correct version of Forge installed (some packs are heavily dependent on one specific build of Forge)
  2. Make a launcher profile targeting this version of Forge.
  3. Set the launcher profile's GameDir property to the pack's instance folder (not the instances folder, the folder that has the pack's name on it).
  4. Now launch the pack through that profile and follow the "Mojang Launcher" instructions above.

Video:

Spoiler

or alternately,

Fallback ("No logs are generated"):

If you don't see logs generated in the usual place, provide the launcher_log.txt from .minecraft

Server Not Starting:

Spoiler

If your server does not start or a command window appears and immediately goes away, run the jar manually and provide the output.

Reporting Illegal/Inappropriate Adfocus Ads:

Spoiler

Get a screenshot of the URL bar or copy/paste the whole URL into a thread on the General Discussion board with a description of the Ad.

Lex will need the Ad ID contained in that URL to report it to Adfocus' support team.

Posting your mod as a GitHub Repo:

Spoiler

When you have an issue with your mod the most helpful thing you can do when asking for help is to provide your code to those helping you. The most convenient way to do this is via GitHub or another source control hub.

When setting up a GitHub Repo it might seem easy to just upload everything, however this method has the potential for mistakes that could lead to trouble later on, it is recommended to use a Git client or to get comfortable with the Git command line. The following instructions will use the Git Command Line and as such they assume you already have it installed and that you have created a repository.

  1. Open a command prompt (CMD, Powershell, Terminal, etc).
  2. Navigate to the folder you extracted Forge’s MDK to (the one that had all the licenses in).
  3. Run the following commands:
    1. git init
    2. git remote add origin [Your Repository's URL]
      • In the case of GitHub it should look like: https://GitHub.com/[Your Username]/[Repo Name].git
    3. git fetch
    4. git checkout --track origin/master
    5. git stage *
    6. git commit -m "[Your commit message]"
    7. git push
  4. Navigate to GitHub and you should now see most of the files.
    • note that it is intentional that some are not synced with GitHub and this is done with the (hidden) .gitignore file that Forge’s MDK has provided (hence the strictness on which folder git init is run from)
  5. Now you can share your GitHub link with those who you are asking for help.

[Workaround line, please ignore]

Strange, I can't seem to upload the screenshot of my launcher which is normally my vanilla launcher that I've tried to launch forge 1.17.1 37.0.2 in it...

I'm getting an error message when trying to upload the screenshot....

Btw I'll be trying Forge 37.0.8 with no mods (especially without OptiFIne) to see if It'll load right now.

UPDATE: Forge 37.0.8 with no mods has loaded successfully for me but now I'll be testing if it'll load with the mods that have been ported to 1.17 already which is 25 mods atm plus OptiFine.

NOTE: If it crashes cause OptiFIne isn't compatible with forge (yet) then OptiFine will be taken out till both are compatible with each other.

UPDATE 2: Forge 37.0.8 with mods was loading but crashed cause of tool belt mod with its rendering models and what not, so I'll report that with the dev(s) of Tool Belt mod.

In conclusion, Forge 37.0.8 is working for me. The issue may have already been resolved between 37.0.3 and 37.0.8.

I know that I could've waited for an update that would've fixed my issue that I was experiencing but I really wanted to make a modded 1.17.1 world with the 25 mods that have been ported to 1.17 that I've enjoyed playing with in 1.16.5 modded (even tho I was playing with upwards of 50+ mods with somewhat good framerate), which was why I created this report/post in the first place.

I really didn't want to create this post in the first place cause of the bad experience that I've had in the past as of my first post on the Forge Forums but I know that Forge 1.17 is in beta right now and that's ok which is why us minecrafters like me are doing the bug testing while wanting to play 1.17 modded so that the devs can fix the bugs we find.

You can close this report/post respectfully now since I'm not experiencing this issue in 37.0.8.

Also I'm sorry for wasting your time with this post....

Even tho what I'm about to say should be in it's own post but when creating a new modded world in the data packs screen I see that Forge 37.0.10's data pack isn't formatted to 7...

Since minecraft 1.17 requires data format of 7 now, so could you guys please update Forge's data pack format to 7? Please?...

Had to delete my modded 1.17.1 world cause of this...

I wanted to change forge's data pack format number to 7 just like how I did with some of the mods that I'm playing with but I don't know where Forge's pack.mcmeta file is and it's NOT my responsibility to do that anyways...

Btw I didn't touch or do anything when I was searching for Forge's pack.mcmeta file in 7Zip file manager and I'll never do that again, ok?....

Also I can't create a new modded world now cause of Forge's outdated data pack format number so I'll just go back to 1.16.5 modded till 37.0.11+ with it's data pack format number being at 7....

Here's the image that I'd tried to add on here;

https://imgur.com/a/z7D3h26

Btw that screenshot was taken a few days ago but the main issue (above my data pack comment issue) does reappear which I would have to update forge on my end to workaround it till it happens again the next day.

But as I've said in my data pack comment above that I can't make a new world now cause Forge's data pack is outdated.

Also I'm not registered on imgur yet and my image post on there is set to private for safety/security reasons so I don't know if you can view my screenshot on imgur.

I also have this problem, and that it is on a pirate launcher, or on an official, the problem is identical.
On the other hand, the Debug.log file does not update.

I was gonna type a pretty long message for you diesieben07 and the rest of the forge forum team but since y'all have been treating me with silence and not being positive and kind that now y'all don't deserve my lengthy important message since all of you would just ignore me anyways like how you all have been for the last week!

I'll just be in my newly created 1.16.5 modded world while waiting for forge's first 1.17.1 stable release!

diesieben07, It is not that you are ignoring, I have read the whole Thread, and still your way of answering is hypocritical ... they are telling you that using the Pirate and the normal one comes out the same and the logs of the two users I see them perfectly , you just ignore what they send you, remain hypocrite.

By the way, version 30.0.33 of 1.17.1 keeps giving the same error. I do not pass the log, and I will not see this Hypocrite Thread again, I will do like Coraline77447, I wait for them to launch a stable Forge
