So I'm brand new to trying out mods in Minecraft. Gaming with Minecraft Java on a Mac. I recently picked the game back up after not really playing for the last year to try out the changes up to 1.17.1. The first thing I did was add Optifine, which has been working fine. However, I was looking around for mods to help address some of the issues I had with automatic farms and chunk loading. It seemed like the only place that I could go for mods was Forge because the Chunk Loader mod had the only fix for what I was trying to address.

The main things that I'm trying to get into the game are the following mods:

And also Optifine (https://optifine.net/downloads)... All of them have a 1.17.1 compatible version.

I've tried multiple different mix and match scenarios to get things to work to no avail. I can get them all to work WITHOUT Optifine but not with Optifine in Forge. I tried using Forge through the native Minecraft launcher but no dice. I also tried it with the CurseForge launcher without success. Aside from the graphics looking nicer and the ability to add shaders, the main thing that Optifine gives me is DYNAMIC LIGHTING (i.e. torches and light blocks emit light when held). I couldn't find any forge mods compatible with 1.17.1 that offer dynamic lighting alone (only things I could find were for Fabric). I was reading a bit on the forum, it's been mentioned that Optifine 1.17.1 isn't compatible with Forge. Since I'm new to trying out modding (other than just Optifine), I wasn't sure if there are estimates or timelines to when it might be compatible. For example, is there a typical time frame after a new version of Minecraft being released and Forge/Optifine compatibility? I also wasn't sure if there were any other steps that I might take to try and troubleshoot this. It just seems odd that Optifine works fine alone, and the collective of other mods work fine in Forge--but put them together and things crash.


I tested all the mods--including Optifine--out on 1.16.5 and was able to get things to work. I really don't want to have to revert my saves back to 1.16.5, but the game becomes almost unplayable for me without dynamic lighting.

 

I'll put my debug logs below from when I tried to run it through the native launcher and the CurseForge launcher (although I couldn't find the debug.log for CurseForge, only the latest.log file). Also I was running the tests prior to adding the GUI Compass and Collective mods, but the results are the same: Optifine causes the exit code 0 when trying to launch it through Forge. Again, I can launch Optifine for 1.17.1 independently with no issues (not through Forge), but obviously there's no way to get the other mods to load in conjunction.

      Server not using allocated resources and overloading

      I am hosting a server on oracle cloud free tier. It has 24GB RAM and 4 OCPUs. I use pterodactyl panel to manage my servers. I have added -Xmx21G in the user_jvm_args.txt file. It is using 9GiB of ram and 120% CPU (max 400%). I have restarted several times. I have a lot of mods. It is running on Forge 1.19.2-43.2.14.       I randomly got this error when I tried to build my game, tried reverting everything I did and it still did not do anything, and nothing is working.       good days  i was updating to 1.20 and have this problem  i need to check the material in blocks for many items and things but the class material exist no more  Material pmat = tmpstate.getMaterial(); if ((pmat == Material.AIR) || (pmat == Material.PLANT) || (pmat == Material.LEAVES) || (pmat == Material.REPLACEABLE_PLANT)) { return false; } also the .getMaterial() method is gonne an without being market as deprecated so i dont find the replacement  forums says //import net.minecraft.world.level.material.Material; that class dont exist on mi forge-1.20.2-48.0.49-mdk.zip i was thingking in using soundtype instead  //import net.minecraft.world.level.block.SoundType but its a little uncosistent coze is designed for other thing and i would have to write custom functions everywhere just to check if a block  like isMetal() could be SoundType.ANVIL SoundType.METAL SoundType.CHAIN and i hand an custome ladder ladder made of iron
