The game crashed whilst mouseclicked event handler Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: failed to create a child event loop Exit Code: -1

It used to work without issue but now nothing works. Deleted all mods to see if it was a mod but it still crashes even with just forge and nothing else. Tried adding the jvm thing for 1.16 that was at the top of the forums page, but since I'm not on java 16 i guess it didn't help? (i don't even know what java 16 is, since I only see version 8 for me on windows 10)

Edit: Just saw we aren't allowed to ask for help unless it's the latest version of minecraft. This is for 1.16.5 so if I have to delete this post I can sorry about that. I can wait until forge and optifine work for 1.17 then.

My java is version 8 update 301
