Cant craft modded items

So me and my friend are trying to play a modded minecraft server, we made the server and everything and added the mods into the right folders and started playing but when we tried to craft a modded item nothing happened it didnt craft and when i tried to do the quick craft thing it said "the server must have JEI installed" even though it is. I need help asap
