Posted July 28, 201312 yr Hey guys, I'm having trouble installing Forge for 1.6.2. I'm getting this error: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Could not find the main class: C:/Users/***/Desktop/minecraftforge-installer-1.6.2-9.10.0.84.jar. Program will now exit. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've looked for some solutions, but I've not managed to find anything. I've made sure it's for the right version and it is the installer. Anyone know of any solutions? (or what I'm doing wrong?)
July 29, 201312 yr java -cp minecraftforge-installer-1.6.2-9.10.0.84.jar cpw.mods.fml.installer.SimpleInstaller Either that or redownload your jar. Read the EAQ before posting! OR ELSE! This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project. www.forgeessentials.com Don't PM me, I don't check this account unless I have to.
July 29, 201312 yr Author java -cp minecraftforge-installer-1.6.2-9.10.0.84.jar cpw.mods.fml.installer.SimpleInstaller Either that or redownload your jar. Sorry, but I have no idea what you mean with the first option. Could you explain what I do with that, or whatever..? I'm really clueless.
July 29, 201312 yr Make a new text file. Write java -cp minecraftforge-installer-1.6.2-9.10.0.84.jar cpw.mods.fml.installer.SimpleInstaller on the text file Save it as run-forge-installer.bat and select all type of file (*.*) Put this file in the same folder as the installer to forge and run it.
July 30, 201312 yr Author Well, it seems to have done something, but it hasn't fixed the issue. Thanks anyway for your input! ^.^ It doesn't seem to be just this file, I can't open my 1.6.2 jar either. To re-install it, do I just delete that jar and run minecraft again?

July 31, 201312 yr Author It turns out it was a problem with Java itself, I needed to delete my previous version of Java, it's working now! Thanks for the help, though!
