Posted January 30, 20223 yr FIX: As suggested, I downgraded my java 8 to version 311 b11. Now I can run forge servers! Problem: Whenever I run the forge jar (Be it through double click, open with java, cmd, or a start.bat file) I get the same error. I am using java 1.8.0_321 build 07, my java server build hotspot is build 25.321-b07 mixed mode, and forge 1.16.5-36.2.20. I am using a 64 bit operating system if it matters. Here's the log: Exception in thread "main" [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: sun.security.util.ManifestEntryVerifier.<init>(Ljava/util/jar/Manifest;)V [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at cpw.mods.modlauncher.SecureJarHandler.createCodeSource(SecureJarHandler.java:66) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at cpw.mods.modlauncher.TransformingClassLoader$DelegatedClassLoader.findClass(TransformingClassLoader.java:275) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at cpw.mods.modlauncher.TransformingClassLoader.loadClass(TransformingClassLoader.java:136) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at cpw.mods.modlauncher.TransformingClassLoader.loadClass(TransformingClassLoader.java:98) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at java.lang.Class.forName(Unknown Source) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at net.minecraftforge.fml.loading.FMLServerLaunchProvider.lambda$launchService$0(FMLServerLaunchProvider.java:51) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at cpw.mods.modlauncher.LaunchServiceHandlerDecorator.launch(LaunchServiceHandlerDecorator.java:37) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at cpw.mods.modlauncher.LaunchServiceHandler.launch(LaunchServiceHandler.java:54) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at cpw.mods.modlauncher.LaunchServiceHandler.launch(LaunchServiceHandler.java:72) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at cpw.mods.modlauncher.Launcher.run(Launcher.java:82) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at cpw.mods.modlauncher.Launcher.main(Launcher.java:66) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at net.minecraftforge.server.ServerMain$Runner.runLauncher(ServerMain.java:63) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at net.minecraftforge.server.ServerMain$Runner.access$100(ServerMain.java:60) [08:48:33] [main/INFO] [STDERR/]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:-1]: at net.minecraftforge.server.ServerMain.main(ServerMain.java:57) I've been searching around on forum posts, asking friends, testing things, and nothing works. Some things I've tried: Switching java version. Adding forge recommended java 16 args despite not running java 16. My friends suggestion of running a totally random sequence of forge and minecraft jars. Running everything through cmd. Running everything through a start.bat file. Please help. I no about nothing about java and this sun.security thing. I just want to play valhelsia 3 with my friends. You can reply to the thread, or message me on discord (ViaticShadow#3453) and I'll update the post accordingly to aid anyone else who encounters this problem. Thanks in advance. Edited January 30, 20223 yr by ViaticShadow Resolved problem!
