Help my 1.16.5 forge server wonanything

Im trying to make a modded forge server but when i try to start the server i get this message

update Forge to the latest version

and 1.16.5 requires java 8

I have already done that

because i use java 8 and newest version of forge

i have a newer version of java installed but also java 8 should i remove the newer java from my pc?

no you can use the full path of java instead of 'java' in the command of the .bat/.sh file

and what version is better for a forge server 1.16.5 or 1.12.2

copy the path of the java 8 installation and replace the java keyword in the command line command

1.16.5, there is no reason to use an outdated version
also 1.12.2 is no longer supported

How do i find the instalation path?

if you need the default java path it should be C:\Program Files\Java

else i don't know, this is your part where did you install java?

yes it is i just didnt copy the folder to the server folder it works now
