“____” is not a valid mod file.

Hello,

I was trying to change the texture of a skin for the mod “MCA Reborn” so I unzipped the file, changed the texture, zipped it back up and changed it to a .jar file, yet it won’t work. I’m kinda new to changing things with mods but I thought you could do this. I can get the log too if someone needs it but does anyone know what went wrong?

this does not work, you need to use a resource pack to override the texture (see: https://minecraft.fandom.com/de/wiki/Ressourcenpaket)
in you case you need to use the namespace of the Mod
