I created a mod for Minecraft 1.18.2. I now want to update it for Minecraft 1.19.1. Is there an official upgrade path to upgrade Forge in-place? I have read the documentation, but it only discusses new installations, and there are many forum posts about this subject but they all seem to come down to brittle manual procedures.

Perhaps this subject can be added to the documentation? If the only recommended way of upgrading is to start over with a new SDK and copying over your code then I'll do that, but it would be good to have official confirmation of that.

You should upgrade through 1.19 first.

1.19.1 is pretty new so it won't have changed much (if at all) compared to 1.19

Boilerplate:

If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one.

If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install

Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com  You should also read the support forum sticky post.
