killergoonie Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 I am trying to set up a server for my friends but any 1.19 version of forge has the server jar file being "invalid or corrupt" and I have no idea how to fix it. I tried downloading previous and current releases forge but it's always saying its corrupted. I have seen other posts when looking online to make sure the file is completely downloaded before running it and it is. and my browser is not blocking any of it. Any help would be appreciated since this is driving me up a wall. Quote
warjort Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 (edited) Your question is unanswerable in its current form. Don't paraphrase error messages. Show the real error/output and explain the steps you took to get that error. GUESSING: If you are clicking on the installer jar and it does not run, try this: https://johann.loefflmann.net/en/software/jarfix/index.html Edited September 22, 2022 by warjort Quote Boilerplate: If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one. If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com You should also read the support forum sticky post.
killergoonie Posted September 22, 2022 Author Posted September 22, 2022 I can run the installer and I choose to install server. Once that is done I try to run "forge-1.19.2-43.1.25-server.jar" but when I try to run it, either from the website/server that my friend bought or on my machine, it says "Error: Invalid or corrupt jarfile C:links to the file place". warjort Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 You do not "run" the jar file. It is not an executable jar file. You use run.sh or run.bat depending on your operating system. See those files and user_jvm_args.txt for more information. If you can't get this to work, you need to speak with your hosting provider. killergoonie Posted September 22, 2022 Author Posted September 22, 2022 Ok I see. From when I set up the server before it use to be you ran that on the server but I guessed it changed? or i'm just a idiot, which is very likely. Quote
warjort Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Older versions of minecraft's server did use an executable jar file, But this changed a long time ago.
