ok, so im not really sure how to explain this, so i'll just post a screenshot. i followed a tutorial on how to start a server from forge, and everything went smoothly until suddenly, the below screenshot pops up. it says that it's not installed, but it's literally right there.

i'm dumbfounded. i've tried everything i can and nothing seems to be working, it just shows the same error over and over again, without fail. i've reinstalled forge more times i can count, and tried every tutorial i saw on the matter, and still, nothing. so im coming here for help. if anyone can help me fix this problem, i would be very grateful. screenshot below.

This error is usually caused by;

* You modified one of the files that comes with forge and broke it

* You are using the wrong version of java, you need java 17

* Your installation of forge didn't complete normally and you didn't notice. There is a log file next to the forge install jar that will show any errors

Boilerplate:

If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one.

If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install

Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com  You should also read the support forum sticky post.
