How replace vanilla content ?

I want to know how to replace vanilla content like blocks or items ? Because even with reading the documentation i still don't know how to do it.

The short answer is don't do that.

It will just lead to major incompatibilities with other mods.

You should create alternative content.

If the end user or mod pack developer wants to use your new content, they can change the recipes or world generation to use your new blocks/items.
