1.19.2 Installer not providing a server file when "install server" selected

I'm trying to set up a 1.19 modded server for my friends and I. Here are the steps I followed. Please do let me know if there's anything else needed.

-Downloaded Forge 1.19.2-43.2.6
-Double clicked the file
-Selected "Install server"
-Diverted the install to a folder on my desktop called "server"
-Ran the install. Installation successful
-No server file downloaded. Only two "run" files, a "user_jvm_args" text document, and the libraries folder.

I also attempted this with Forge 1.19.1-42.0.9 and Forge 1.19.2-43.1.57

Hello!  I am stuck at the same point with the same result for Forge-1.19.2-43.2.0

In YouTube tutorial for the older Forge 1.16, yes there were two .jar files created one of which was the Forge server initializer.

Now you say for Forge 1.17 or newer, it was changed.

Now my results are a Library folder and 3 files:

user_jvm_args.txt

run.sh

run.bat

However none of these 3 files will initialize the Forge server when I double click them; they all bring up TextEdit files.

Your help will be appreciated so that my 11 year old grandson can play his Mod'd Minecraft on the standalone 2014 Mac mini server I set up for him.

Thank you!

Update: the previous Minecraft server worked perfectly for him and his friends when not using Mod's.

Do not post in existing support threads even if you think you have the same problem.

No two problems are alike.

All you are doing is making more difficult for future people that find this thread to understand what the solution to the original problem was.

Anyway, you need to type the following on a command line (you might need to make the file executable? I don't know macs very well)

./run.sh

Read that file and the user_jvm_args.txt for configuration options you might want to set.

Other FAQs: You need to use java 17 and don't install client side only mods. And it will ask you to edit the eula.txt to confirm you agree to it.

If you have further problems, start your own thread and post a link to the logs/debug.log

Boilerplate:

If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one.

If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install

Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com  You should also read the support forum sticky post.
