Posted December 1, 201311 yr Hi guys, Just to keep it short: Can I make, let's say a sword, with two textures that overlay? like a potion, monsteregg? If I can, would you please tell me how? Thanks in advance Casual Dutchman Coding, Testing, Smiling, Publishing!
December 1, 201311 yr Hi Yes you can, suggest using an IItemRenderer and rendering first one icon then the second. See here for more details (the sections on items, including sample code) http://greyminecraftcoder.blogspot.com.au/p/list-of-topics.html -TGG
December 1, 201311 yr Item#getIconFromDamageForRenderPass(damage, pass) Override this, return a different icon depending on pass value. You'll need Item#requiresMultipleRenderPasses() to return true. And override Item#getRenderPasses(int) if you want more than 2 passes.
December 1, 201311 yr Author Well how do you do that exactly? greayminecraftcoder is a bit difficult. and GotoLink, when you do that with a sword, the icon will change everytime you hit a mob. that's not what I want. Coding, Testing, Smiling, Publishing!
December 1, 201311 yr and GotoLink, when you do that with a sword, the icon will change everytime you hit a mob. that's not what I want. This won't return different icons when the item takes damage: @Override public Icon getIconFromDamageForRenderPass(damage, pass) { if(pass == 0) { return iconA; } else { return iconB; } } Just because a value is available doesn't mean that the function has to do anything with it. If you were to use this code, you would get the same icon all the time, and it would look like iconB rendered on top of iconA.
