JimmyStitches
I have 3070 Nvidia drivers on an Asus Tuf Dash F15 laptop. I have made sure java is updated, I have updated my Nvidia drivers, I have loaded 1.20.1 vanilla before using the forge, I even attempted the AMD drivers clean up thing because I'm desperate, I've restarted my laptop as well. I have not uninstalled and reinstalled anything yet because through my research, that doesn't seem to help anyone. My Exit Code is 1. If anyone can help me, that would be awesome. TileEntity
Make sure Java is running via Nvidia GPU: https://windowsreport.com/minecraft-not-using-gpu/ If there is no change, add the crash-report or latest.log with sites like https://paste.ee/
JimmyStitches
I got to step 7, but for some reason there is no Minecraft folder nor a javaw.exe file. How do I get those? Not sure why I don't have them, been playing Minecraft for years.
TileEntity
Check for the javaw.exe in the Nvidia Control Panel - At "Recently used"
JimmyStitches
Unfortunately javaw.exe does not show up. Is there a way to make it show up?
TileEntity
If 1.20.1 vanilla works before, it should be there Nvidia Control Panel - Manage 3D Settings - Program Settings - Recently Used In this list there should be something with Java TM or similar - add these and set the High Performance Mode
JimmyStitches
I tried adding Open JDK Platform binary, but the game still crashed. The only other java related looking option is Java Update Checker. Do I have to add the Minecraft launcher itself?
TileEntity
Add the crash-report or latest.log (logs-folder) with sites like https://paste.ee/ and paste the link to it here Edited April 9 by TileEntity
JimmyStitches
Okay, so none of the new crashes are creating new crash reports. I got the most recent log, I believe. I tried to put it into the paste thing, but this is my first time, I've never had this level of issues before. I don't think I did this correctly: <script src="https://paste.ee/e/AHoHy/0"></script> Edited April 9 by JimmyStitches
TileEntity
Make a test with another Launcher like MultiMC or AT Launcher
JimmyStitches
Alrighty, I have never used either of those before, so I just installed AT Launcher. I don't know if I was supposed to do things with or without a modpack, so I assumed I needed to use a modpack, so I used Better Minecraft 1.20.1. The AT Launcher worked... so why does my regular minecraft not work?
JimmyStitches
I also was able to create an instance without mods that was forge 1.20.1 and that worked too. Will I be able to fix my regular minecraft though?
TileEntity
If forge works with the regular Launcher, make a test with adding mods one by one or in groups
JimmyStitches
I apologize for not specificizing, 1.20.1 forge works with the AT Launcher only, not the regular launcher. The regular launcher still crashes with no mods and forge 1.20.1.
TileEntity
For the regular one, make a test with the old Launcher Windows 7/8 version (works with Win 10/11): https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/alternative
JimmyStitches
I tested forge 1.20.1 on regular minecraft = still crashes. I tested forge 1.19.2 (the last main update I've been using till now) on regular minecraft and it works fine.
TileEntity
Add the crash-report
JimmyStitches
I get exit code 1. Looking in the crash report folder, I don't see any new crash reports. The last one I have is from 2024-3-19.

JimmyStitches
Okay, so it just won't/ doesn't work for me? I appreciate all the help, at least this AT Launcher works, so I guess I can learn how to use it.
JimmyStitches
And you looked at that crash thing? I tried getting it from the output option in the launcher settings.
