I apologise if this is in the wrong forum, but I wasn't sure what it would come under.

I bought Minecraft and downloaded 1.7.4 and then tried loading Forge but got the error message "You need to run the version 1.7.2 manually once."

As your EAQ post says "This means that you have to run VANILLA minecraft (no mods) for the version listed before you can install Forge." Fine, but I have never owned an earlier version that I can run.  Is there a way I can step Minecraft back to allow me to run 1.7.2 so I can use Forge?  I am not very technical and I'm struggling with Windows 8 on my new laptop atm, so please be gentle with me.

Many thanks

Click the 'Edit Profile' button, and select 1.7.2 from the 'Versions' drop down list...

Fairly simple...

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
